Margarita is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about facial anatomy. What really impressed me is how she takes the time to analyze how your facial muscles move when you talk and express emotions. She explains everything in detail, pinpoints any imbalances, and customizes the treatment to suit your natural expressions. I got Botox here and the results are exactly what I was hoping for—super natural but beautifully enhanced. The clinic itself is bright, clean, and welcoming. You can tell you're in good hands from the moment you walk in. I had an amazing experience at Beyond Medical Aesthetics! Highly recommend!

I’ve been seeing Margarita for my Botox and fillers for about two years now, and I can honestly say she’s an amazing injector! Not only does she prioritize natural results, she’s also incredibly honest about the potential risks with over injecting based on my facial anatomy, which is hard to come by in the beauty industry. My most recent appointment had people asking me “something looks different but I’m not sure what it is” which makes me love the results even more.

I recently had a Sculptra treatment with Margarita, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From the moment I walked in, Margarita made me feel comfortable and informed. She took the time to explain the entire process, set realistic expectations, and answered all my questions with patience and expertise. What truly sets Margarita apart is her eye for detail and her gentle, artistic approach. She knew exactly how to enhance my natural features without making anything look overdone. The results have been subtle yet incredibly effective—my skin looks firmer, refreshed, and more youthful with each passing week. Margarita’s professionalism, skill, and warm demeanor made the entire experience so enjoyable. I highly recommend her to anyone considering Sculptra or any cosmetic treatment. She’s truly a gem!

Before Your Treatment

Questions Clients Ask
Before Booking

Honest answers to the things most people wonder — but don't always think to ask.

Do I need a consultation before booking a treatment?
Yes, and it's complimentary. We strongly recommend a consultation before your first treatment so your specialist can assess your skin, review your medical history, and design a plan built around your goals. This is especially important for injectables and laser treatments. Walk-ins are welcome for Essential Medical Facials without a prior consultation.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
Book a consultation and we'll do the assessment for you. If you'd like to explore first, use the Concerns Navigator on this page — select your skin concern and we'll show you which treatments address it. Our specialists will never recommend a treatment you don't need.
How much do treatments cost at Beyond Medical Aesthetics?
Pricing varies by treatment and is detailed on our Pricing page. For injectables, Botox is priced per unit (treatment areas and estimated units are listed on the Botox page). Filler and Sculptra pricing is discussed at consultation. We do not offer packages upfront — your treatment plan is built on what your skin actually needs.
How far in advance should I book?
For most treatments, same-week bookings are available. For injectables — particularly if you're preparing for a special event — we recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance so that any temporary swelling fully resolves and results are visible before the date. For weddings or formal events, 4–6 weeks is ideal.
Is parking available at the Markham clinic?
Yes. Free parking is available on site at 4591 Hwy 7 Unit 220A, Markham. We are conveniently accessible from Highway 7 and Highway 404, serving clients from across the GTA.
Will Botox make me look frozen or unnatural?
Not when it's done properly. At Beyond Medical Aesthetics, Margarita analyzes how your facial muscles move before every treatment. The goal is always to soften — not freeze — so that results look like a well-rested version of you. Reviews from our clients consistently describe results as "super natural but beautifully enhanced." If you're nervous, say so at your consultation — we'll show you conservative dosing options first.
What should I stop taking before injectables?
For one week before any injectable treatment: pause blood-thinning medications and supplements — including aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and ginkgo biloba (consult your physician before stopping any prescribed medications). Avoid alcohol for 72 hours before. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Stop retinoids and acid-based products 3–5 days before.
Can I get fillers and Botox on the same day?
Yes, combining Botox and dermal fillers in a single session is common and safe when planned by an experienced injector. Your specialist will sequence the injections appropriately — typically Botox first so muscle relaxation doesn't shift filler placement. This is discussed and confirmed at your consultation.
How long do I need to take off work after Botox or fillers?
Botox requires no downtime — most clients return to work the same day. Avoid exercise and heat for 24 hours. Dermal fillers may cause swelling and bruising for 5–7 days, particularly in the lip and under-eye areas. Most people return to normal activities immediately, with residual swelling easily covered with makeup after 24 hours.
I've never had injectables. Where should I start?
Start with a consultation. If you're new to injectables, we typically recommend starting with neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport) as an introduction — they are reversible in effect, require no downtime, and give you a sense of how you respond to treatment. From there, your specialist will guide you through a plan that builds progressively and safely.
How should I prepare my skin before microneedling or a laser treatment?
For 2 weeks before: avoid direct sun exposure and tanning; use SPF daily. For 3–5 days before: stop retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliating products. For 1 week before: no waxing or laser hair removal on the treatment area. Arrive on the day with clean, bare skin — no makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen. Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.
Will a chemical peel or laser treatment make my skin worse before it gets better?
There is often a brief purging phase — especially with chemical peels and microneedling — where the skin appears to break out or flake as old skin cells turn over. This is a normal, expected part of the healing process and typically resolves within 5–7 days. Do not pick at the skin during this phase. Your specialist will walk you through what to expect and provide a written aftercare plan before you leave.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
It depends on the treatment and concern. Most clients see initial improvements after a single session, with optimal results building over a series. For microneedling and RF microneedling, 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart are typically recommended for concerns like acne scarring. Medical facials can produce visible results from session one. Your specialist will give you a clear, honest timeline at your consultation.
Is SYLFIRM X RF microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. SYLFIRM X's dual-wave technology selectively targets abnormal tissue without generating broad heat — making it significantly safer for all skin tones, including Fitzpatrick IV–VI, compared to many ablative laser alternatives. Standard microneedling with the EVO device is also safe for darker tones. Your specialist will calibrate settings to your skin type at each session.
Am I a good candidate for aesthetic treatments?
Most healthy adults are suitable candidates for most treatments. There are specific contraindications for each procedure — for example, active skin infections, certain autoimmune conditions, pregnancy (most injectables), or recent use of blood thinners. A thorough consultation and medical history review is how we confirm your eligibility. We will never proceed with a treatment that is not appropriate for you.
Can I have aesthetic treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Most injectables (Botox, fillers, Sculptra) and laser treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution, due to limited safety data. Our Enzyme Facial is specifically formulated to be safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please inform your specialist of your status at consultation and we will recommend appropriate options.
What if I'm on medication — can I still have treatment?
Certain medications affect treatment eligibility or require timing adjustments — including blood thinners, immunosuppressants, isotretinoin (Accutane), and some antibiotics. Disclose all medications and supplements at your consultation. For most common medications, treatment is still possible with minor modifications. We will never ask you to stop a prescribed medication without direction from your physician.
What are the risks of Botox or dermal fillers?
When administered by trained, regulated healthcare professionals, Botox and dermal fillers have a well-established safety record. Common side effects are temporary: mild bruising, swelling, or redness at injection sites resolving within days. Rare complications include temporary asymmetry or, very rarely, vascular occlusion with fillers — a known risk that is minimized by injector skill, appropriate product selection, and knowledge of facial anatomy. All of our injectors are registered nurses with advanced aesthetic training.
When will I see results — and how long will they last?
It varies by treatment: Botox results appear in 3–5 days, full effect at 10–14 days, lasting 3–4 months. Dermal fillers are immediate, lasting 6–18+ months depending on product and area. Microneedling improvements begin in 2–3 weeks, with full collagen remodelling at 3–6 weeks per session. RF microneedling results develop progressively over 4–8 weeks. Medical facials show results from day one, with optimal skin health improving over a consistent 4–6 week schedule.
What skincare can I use after my treatment?
In the first 24–48 hours after most treatments: use only gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and a mild moisturizer. Avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, and any active exfoliants for 3–7 days depending on treatment intensity. Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily — this is non-negotiable, especially post-laser and post-peel. Your specialist will provide a specific written aftercare plan for your treatment before you leave.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
For most injectables, avoid makeup for 24 hours over treated areas. For microneedling, laser treatments, and chemical peels, avoid makeup until the skin has fully healed — typically 24–48 hours for lighter treatments, up to 5–7 days for deeper protocols. Mineral-based makeup is generally preferred when resuming coverage.
What should I avoid after getting Botox or fillers?
For the first 24 hours: no touching or massaging the treated area, no strenuous exercise, no heat exposure (sauna, hot yoga, hot shower), no lying down flat (for Botox — stay upright for 4 hours). Avoid alcohol for 24 hours. For fillers: avoid extreme temperatures and pressure on the treated area for 2–3 days. Contact the clinic immediately if you notice unusual blanching, severe pain, or vision changes — these are rare but require prompt attention.
How do I maintain my results long-term?
Consistent treatment spacing is key. For Botox, booking at 3–4 month intervals prevents muscle memory from returning fully and can gradually extend the duration of results. For skin treatments, a maintenance facial every 4–6 weeks supports the skin's cell cycle. Daily SPF use, hydration, and a simple evidence-based skincare routine between appointments will significantly extend the quality of your results. Your specialist will build a long-term maintenance plan with you at your consultation.
